The Grievance Officer handles complaints relating to personal data (access, correction, erasure, consent, nomination, misuse by a recruiter, breaches) as required by the DPDP Act and Rules, and also coordinates complaints about jobs, employers, payments and platform conduct.
2. How to raise a grievance
Fastest: log in → Dashboard → Privacy → Raise a request → Grievance (candidates) or Recruiter → Settings → Privacy (recruiter users). Describe the issue; attach screenshots if useful. You receive a ticket number (format GR-YYYYMM-XXXX) on screen and by email immediately.
By email: grievance@ohcjob.com from the email address registered on your account. Include your name, mobile number or email used on OHCjob.com, the job or company concerned (link or name), what happened, and what outcome you want. We will confirm your identity before acting on requests that reveal or delete data.
By post: at the address above (slower; we reply by email).
If you cannot use a form or email because of a disability, call the number above and we will record the grievance for you.
Nominees: if you have appointed a nominee in the Privacy centre, they may raise a grievance on your behalf after we verify their identity.
3. What happens next — timeline
| Step | When |
|---|---|
| Ticket number issued | Immediately |
| Acknowledgement with the name of the person handling it | Within 48 hours |
| Investigation; we may ask you for more information | Ongoing |
| Resolution or a written explanation of why we cannot act | Within 30 days in most cases, and in every case within 90 days of receipt (the statutory limit under the DPDP Rules) |
| Escalation option shown if unresolved | At 90 days, or earlier if we reject the grievance |
You can see the status, the days remaining and our replies on the ticket in the Privacy centre. Every action on a ticket is logged.
4. Typical grievances and what we do
- A recruiter misused my data (marketing messages, shared my CV, contacted me after I blocked them): we investigate against the recruiter's audit trail, require deletion, and can suspend or ban the company; you may also complain to the authority in the recruiter's country, and we will give you the recruiter's registered details for that purpose.
- Someone asked me for money for a job: we treat this as fraud — the job is removed, the company banned, applicants notified, and we preserve evidence for the police. See Safe Job Search.
- My data is wrong / I want it deleted: most corrections are self-service in your profile; erasure is self-service under Privacy → Delete account. Raise a grievance only if something blocks you.
- I was wrongly rejected or suspended: tell us the ticket or decision; a different team member reviews it.
- Billing dispute (recruiters): see the Refund Policy; raise a ticket with the invoice number.
5. If you are not satisfied
- India: after our response, or if 90 days pass without one, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India through its complaint portal [EDIT: URL/ address when notified]. The Board can direct us to act and impose penalties. Please quote your OHCjob.com ticket number.
- UAE / Saudi Arabia / Qatar: the UAE Data Office, the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) or the Qatar National Cyber Security Agency's data privacy office, respectively.
- USA: the Federal Trade Commission (reportfraud.ftc.gov) or your state attorney general.
- Other countries: your national data-protection or consumer authority.
- Nothing here limits your right to approach a court or consumer forum.
6. Grievance web form
The form below is the same as the one in the Privacy centre and is available without logging in for people who no longer have access to their account.

7. Record-keeping
We keep grievance records, our responses and the actions taken for at least one year after closure, as evidence of compliance, and report grievance statistics to our management quarterly.
